Spreading the Knowledge: Blogs I Recommend

There’s a lot more people out there in the world who have important things to say about project management and leadership than just little ol’ me (obviously).  Below is a list of some of the blogs I love and recommend:

Raven’s Brain- ravenyoung.spaces.live.com

Raven Young’s project management blog is what it’s billed as- Random thoughts from a PM on life, work, and the kitchen sink -and since Raven is a PM, those random thoughts come out in a fairly logical and useful order.  Raven’s blog has a great wealth of information for the inquisitive PM.

Tyner Blain-  http://tynerblain.com/blog/

The Tyner Blain blog is, in my opinion, not for ‘beginners’.  It’s full of useful information for veterans- people who already know a great deal about requirements, project management, software development, and such.  If you are a beginner, wade in anyway.  There’s a wealth of information here.  If you have questions, check out their foundation series (located here), post in the comments, contact them, or even contact me- I’m planning to write a series of articles soon on the foundation basics, and I’d be glad for the motivation to start early ;).

Outside the Triangle- http://outofthetriangle.wordpress.com/

David Daly’s blog on Software Development Management.  A very useful mix of techie, personal skills, and project management.  You can find anything from managing email to intricacies of UML here.

Bruce’s Brain – http://brucebrain.blogspot.com/

Bruce’s Brain is another PM blog based out of Seattle, WA (a lot of smart PMs out Washington way).  It’s a great little blog wandering the range of software project management land.  A good read.

Rev2.org- http://www.rev2.org

This is, obviously, not a PM blog.  It is a blog where you can learn a lot about the bigger picture though.  I keep up with Rev2 because they review interesting and useful projects, I get occasional insiderish info on the web startup world, and I find out things key things that people are reviewing web applications for- what do users like, what do they not like, and things about what key elements are web products being judged on nowadays.
