Communicate Better Today: Six Ways to Improve Your Writing

October 21, 2007 – 2:19 pm

The folks over at Bizcovering have posted a great article on six types of words you should axe in your business writing.  The great thing about this article in particular is not only that they tell you which words you should not be using, but what to choose in their place.

Their point in this article is clear, as well:  communicate quantitatively, not qualitatively.  State things in clear, defined facts.  Be direct.  Use easy to understand language.  Drop unneeded words.  We all know these things, but we all need the reminder from time to time.  Bookmark this list, and refer back to it regularly.  Don’t allow yourself to slip into ‘bizspeak’.
