The Self-Project: Four Methods for Making Tough Decisions

Lifehacker posted this a long while back, but it bears repeating.  They offer in-depth help with decision making in the original article here, but here’s the quick summary:

1.  Make a weighted pros and cons list

2.  Create a Grid Analysis of multiple criteria

3.  Calculate Expected Value of every outcome

4.  Trust Your Gut

I love the emphasis of “weighted” in the pros and cons list- something a lot of people fail to do.  If you don’t weight each pro and con, you can get mired in the details of things that don’t really matter.  What other methods do folks out there use?
