Member Guidelines
August 21, 2007 – 9:46 pmUndocumentedfeatures.com is meant to be a community of professionals interested in software project management. With that in mind, there are a few things that we would appreciate members bearing in mind when participating in discussions.
Be nice. Personal attacks, flames, trolling, and anything else that is internet slang for ‘being a pain in the hind end for the joy of ruining other people’s conversation’ are not welcome.
Stay on topic. Related tangents are great. Throwing a thread miles off track for something unrelated is not. Self-promotion in general is not welcome. Signatures, taglines and posts that are overly promotional should be avoided. In general, only drop self-promotional links if they are highly relevent to what’s going on. For example, if we’re talking about online task list tools, and you have written a good one, dropping the link is okay. Dropping a link for your movie blog is not.
No whining about site policies. It’s my site, not a public site. I built it for the good of the community. I reserve rights to not have things on my site that are contrary to what I believe is for the good of the community.
Any edits made to any posts and such that enforce these guidelines should be discussed in private with the site owner/admin.
No whining. If you must whine, do it privately, to me. I will listen. If I disagree, my ruling will stand. I don’t tell you what to have on your blog.
